Melissa Caffrey, MS, LPC
In life, we typically feel happiest when things are going exactly as we expect. Unfortunately, life and relationships rarely play out this way; leaving us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and powerless to meet our everyday challenges. I enjoy working with adults, couples, and adolescents who want to explore how to get unstuck and move forward.
I have worked closely with children and adults struggling through various crises, including: grief, ADHD, interpersonal relationships, sexuality, identity, regulating emotions, self harm, trauma, and a wide array of other challenges. Counseling allows individuals and couples to grow, explore and reflect on that which they have the power to change. Therapy helps foster a sense of hope and courage to overcome some of life’s most difficult challenges. I strive to come alongside my clients to walk through their pain as they grow from a state of helplessness and despair into one of strength and encouragement.
I graduated from Texas A&M Commerce in 2020 with a Masters in Counseling, and I have gained a wide array of experience working as an LPC-Associate for a local school district. Working with staff, students, and their families taught me the importance of creating a safe space in which people can explore their feelings free from judgment and stigma.
The effects of trauma, depression, anxiety, shame, anger, resentment, and inadequacy can leave you feeling “stuck.” It is my hope that as we journey together in counseling you are able to tap into the well of strength and courage within that caused you to seek out help today.
